Bragging Rights

Category: General News, KUF stories

For some time now, we’ve been working with the Edmonton Police Service to work with local youth to empower them and foster positive experiences and relationships both with the police force and the community at large. Police have been able to reward youth committing acts of Goodwill with a citation that the youth can then exchange for a Kids Up Front experience. This morning, we had a wonderful young gentleman come in with his family to exchange his ‘ticket’ for some tickets to tomorrow night’s Edmonton Energy basketball game. Good job, Kurt, and keep up the great work of helping constables in your community.

Kurt Stad with his parents, showing off his BRAG citation and Edmonton Energy tickets.

We are excited to be revamping our BRAG (Because of a Random Act of Goodwill) Citation program with the Edmonton Police Service over the summer and relaunching it to be even bigger and better in the fall. Looking forward to being able to provide wonderful experiences for Kurt and many more local youth.

Children of Lir

Category: General News, Media, Thanks

We are thrilled to be sending over 100 kids to tomorrow night’s Children of Lir performance. This evening of Irish music and dance will showcase the Knock School of Irish Dance and special musical guests as they retell the famous Irish legend about the transformation of King Lir’s children into swans by the hand of their jealous stepmother. Should be a great show, many thanks to the Rince Parents’ Association for their generous donation of tickets to get Edmonton youth and families to what is sure to be a beautiful show.

If you missed the performance on Breakfast Television yesterday, you can check out the video clip here: Children of Lir performance on BTV
