just learned that kids up front edmonton is receiving a $17,642 community spirit grant. can’t say thank you enough to minister lyndsay blackett & the dept of culture and community spirit for supporting kids up front in our unique effort to nourish kids’ spirits through providing them access to arts,culture, sports and entertainment.

Dear Kids Up Front, Fringe Theatre, and Children’s Heart Society

Thank you so much for the opportunity to take my daughter to Les Parfaits Inconnus this past Sunday. Maya absolutely loved it. She enjoyed the music and was bouncing in her seat for most of the show. Maya particularly enjoyed the young man doing the ladder balancing and turned to me at one point and said he had better be careful because was worried about him. It was truly a wonderful afternoon.

massive damage is gearing up for turf wars apr 30, kids up front night at monster pro wrestling! fans are encouraged to buy extra tickets at the door for kids. kids will be treated to pizza and massive is going to give them a quick talk on bullying. massive and the wrestlers will give autographs and pictures and memories!

I was reminded yesterday of a remark shared with me by former Director of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Brian Malloy about the value Kids Up Front adds to wrap-around child and family services. “If only we could hold [a kid's] treatment session at an Oilers game!” Brian went on to talk about how the safe and positive event environment helps to  break down many of the barriers to advancing treatment for the kids, families and the staff (youth workers, mentorship coaches, teachers, mental health professionals or family support workers that frequently supervise the event experience).
